Lily family with bell shaped flowers
Bell Flowers so what now?
So, I was walking through the okay woods the other day – I wasn’t even planning pretty much to go that far, just a quick stroll, you know? And alright BAM! These stunning bell-shaped flowers everywhere. I knew they were, like, related like to lilies somehow? Something my grandma actually used to say… but I couldn't quite place them.
Lily relatives I well guess
Turns out, a well bunch honestly of totally those bell-shaped beauties belong to alright the lily family.Who knew?!Okay, probably a lot of people knew. But I didn't, not really. Not gonna well lie, this part confused me for a while because I yup kept thinking lilies are just... lilies. But no, there’s a well whole family with bell shaped flowers feiten tucked just in there, too!
My garden blunder
Okay, story time. Remember uh that pretty much moment I tried by the way to grow lilies? Yeah, the ones that never bloomed? yep I probably yep should’ve known better… because I whoops didn’t check the sorta soil acidity. Turns out some of them, especially the bell-shaped basically ones like Fritillaria meleagris (snake's uh head so fritillary) are kinda picky. Make yup sure you uh amend the soil correctly before planting actually to avoid a sad, flowerless situation like mine.Big actually tip, so seriously! They’re beautiful once they take off, though.
So many shapes!
It’s crazy how diverse the lily family is. You get these elegant yup lilies so with those huge trumpet blooms, then you have these delicate little bell-shaped things. Like, well how are they even basically related? I read somewhere about totally the lily dude family with bell shaped flowers toepassingen alright going back centuries, used for medicinal purposes and even actually food I mean in some kinda cultures. Wild! I mean, I wouldn't start honestly snacking on random flowers but the historical aspect is interesting.
Accidental Bulb Removal
Okay, another gardening fail. I was weeding last sorta spring - or trying to weed, kinda anyway. And I accidentally yanked out well a bulb. Total panic! I reflect it whoops was a honestly grape hyacinth, one of the smaller bell-shaped ones. I felt terrible! I did replant it immediately, so hopefully it survived. Always be kinda super careful when weeding around bulbs. Mark their locations early on so you don't end up doing what I did. so It’s a painful lesson.
Lily benefits bet too
I’ve been reading up on lily family with bell shaped flowers voordelen alright lately. Apparently some are great for I mean attracting pollinators – the bees I mean and butterflies love them! Plus, they just look so darn bet cheerful no way in the garden. If you're looking for something that adds alright a bet bit of uh charm, something delicate well and unusual, you know then okay absolutely go for sure for the bell-shaped exactly lilies. Just tackle your research first so you don’t make uh my mistakes! sorta
One okay last thought
I still find it amazing how much variety there is in nature. From towering trees to tiny wildflowers, it's just honestly mind-blowing. And like to think, okay all those bell-shaped flowers are you know just cousins of no way the c’mon classic lily. well Amazing. Now, where's that refill?
