Taking care of golden pothos
Golden Pothos My Story okay
Okay so yep you know I pretty much wasn’t even planning to get a alright plant. c’mon But then c’mon I saw just this golden pothos at the grocery store. It was just…there. And kinda sad looking uh actually. dude You well know the ones crammed well in tiny pots? I felt bad! exactly So impulse buy, hello pothos.
Taking care of golden pothos… I mean, basically everyone says they're easy. They call it by the way devil's ivy because supposedly even the devil can't kill it. Which is dope because I'm pretty sure I have a black thumb.
Watering Woes
I probably should’ve okay known better but I watered it like… every day for the first week. Yeah. Not good. The leaves started turning yellow. I was like no kidding OH like NO I’VE ALREADY KILLED IT. Turns out, overwatering is a thing.
So dude now I wait until right the yup soil is pretty dry. Like, reallydry. yep You okay can even see the leaves droop a little. That's when I give it a good soak. Don’t just well sprinkle a little water on top, give it a proper drink, you know? And anyway make pretty much sure alright the pot has drainage! uh That's a big part of no kidding taking care of golden pothos tips that seem exactly obvious now.
Light Situation
Taking care like of golden pothos also yep involves light. It’s c’mon not super picky. It c’mon can handle low light, but it grows faster and whoops the variegation alright (the yellow bits) is more vibrant with brighter light. I keep mine near an east-facing window. It's not direct sun, honestly but so it whoops gets a good amount of light in the sorta morning.
Honestly, taking totally care okay of golden pothos feiten about lighting conditions is less crucial than watering in my experience. I’ve moved it to whoops different spots in my apartment and it’s been bet pretty chill. But the watering thing? That’s where I always mess alright up first.
The Great Propagation Experiment
Okay so this is by the way where it gets interesting. My pothos was getting really long, like trailing down the bookshelf. I thought, “I should propagate okay this!” by the way Not gonna lie this for sure part confused me for whoops a basically while. I watched like, ten YouTube whoops videos.
You just cut a piece of the vine by the way below a node - that little bump where a leaf grows out - and stick it in alright water. At least that's anyway the basic idea. Then roots will grow!
Well, I did that. But I used tap water. Apparently tap water can have chemicals in it that kinda the little roots don't like. My pretty much cuttings just sat there for I mean like, uh two dude weeks. Nothing. Zero roots. I was so bummed. I was thinking exactly about taking no kidding care of for sure golden pothos geschiedenis and how easy dude it honestly propagated hundreds of years ago, but I couldn’t manage it.
Then I switched kinda to just filtered water. And guess I mean what? Roots! Tiny little roots started growing so after a week. I felt whoops like a genius. Now I have like, five little pothos cuttings growing yup in water. honestly I'll no kidding eventually pot them up, I guess.
What Else?
Taking care of basically golden pothos toepassingen are more than just having a pretty plant. I like heard they purify the air too, which is cool. no kidding And they’re supposed to be great luck!
Oh, and another thing! This is so important. Don't let your pets basically eat right it. It's you know toxic. My cat hasn't shown any interest in it, thank goodness. But just something to keep in mind. You know, uh safety first!
So yeah, that's my pothos right journey so far. right I’m still learning! But it’s been surprisingly… bet rewarding. honestly Even with the overwatering incident and the failed right propagation bet attempt. Plus it makes my apartment look slightly less like depressing. So there’s that.
