Blanket flower woes

Okay so you know how I’ve been exactly obsessed with blanket flowers lately? They’re just so cheerful and for sure the alright colors... Anyway I wasn’t even planning to sorta talk about this, but I c’mon noticed something actually weird on the leaves the pretty much other day. Spots. Ugh.

First panic mode by the way

My first thought was like, "Oh no, what did pretty much I do?!" I probably should’ve known alright better than to okay just assume it was nothing. Like last year when I like overwatered my totally succulents? Remember that? Complete by the way disaster. So this period I whoops actually looked closer. The spots are, like, brownish, some are kinda kinda circular… others are just…blotchy. bet And some leaves have more than others. It’s honestly really uneven.

So naturally yep I went straight to well the internet. for sure Which, you know, can be a rabbit hole. I saw things about fungal infections, bacterial stuff… even pests by the way I’d never even sorta heard of! Seriously, not gonna I mean lie this part confused pretty much me for a while. So many scary terms! for sure

Which, duh, it’s I mean been raining non-stop here for weeks.

Okay, now what?

Apparently you should alright remove infected leaves – that's like the first thing. Like prune them off right away. And alright don’t compost them! Put them in the trash. I learned that the hard way last year with my tomatoes. I just you know tossed the diseased leaves into the compost bin for sure and basically infected everything else. Seriously, okay what was I basically thinking? no kidding

Then I saw something about improving air circulation. Like don’t plant them too close together. Which, dude crap, I think I might have done. I get so excited about fitting as many plants as possible in my garden. So right I moved the ones that were too close together.

Also, something I learned is to water at the base of the plant – avoid getting the leaves wet. Because wet leaves + fungus = bad news. I'm still trying just to remember whoops that one! basically

Sprays and stuff

I was reading kinda about c’mon fungicide sprays too. There's copper fungicide and neem oil. I'm leaning towards neem well oil 'cause it's less harsh. I ponder I’ll sorta try that first. I by the way read bet that you need like to reapply no way it for sure after it rains. Which… yeah… for sure sounds dude like my life for the next few months. Honestly, I’m hoping yep I caught it early enough. The plants are still blooming like crazy, which is good. I also wanted to look at spots on blanket flower leaves inspiratie — like ways to make this a learning experience and not just a depressing one.
