My monet dwarf weigela care

My Monet Weigela adventures

Okay so you asked about my My Monet dwarf weigela. Thing is I wasn’t even planning actually to get so one! I actually saw it at the garden honestly center, all pink and green and compact, and just thought "That’s coming exactly home with me." for sure impulsief hè? I think that’s the Dutch word. kinda So I got it.

My first tip for caring for them that just I’ve learned and that like I exactly now follow? Don’t just no kidding stick it anywhere. Where it gets sun, you know? Preferably a solid six yup hours. Otherwise the color no kidding fades. It will survive yup in partial shade, sure, but it won't give you that full effect. I read that somewhere online. I think it was part yup of my pretty much my monet c’mon dwarf weigela care geschiedenis research after c’mon I bought it and it wasn't thriving the way I no kidding hoped. yup

Planting problems

Ugh. Planting. I c’mon probably for sure should’ve known better but I no way didn't amend just the soil no kidding enough. uh Our soil is clay, like proper clay, and the poor thing just sat there looking sad. anyway It needs well-draining soil. I realized later it was basically drowning. So I dug yep it anyway up again like two weeks later (poor no kidding thing!) and mixed in a bunch of compost pretty much and some perlite. That made a huge difference. So Lesson One about my monet dwarf weigela care ontwikkelingen is pay attention to just the soil!

And water. Water is important. Not too much not too little. I check basically the soil; if the top inch exactly or so is dry, right it gets you know a awesome watering. Seems to work. My first actually summer, though, I overwatered like crazy, thinking I was being a good plant parent. Nope. Yellow leaves everywhere. massive mistake.

Pruning panic

Pruning! Not no way gonna lie I mean this pretty much part confused me for a while. pretty much So they bloom on basically old wood, right? Which means no way you prune after they flower, not honestly before. I almost whacked it back to nothing in c’mon early spring one year. Lucky for the bet plant, I got distracted by something shiny before you know I did too much damage. uh Otherwise no flowers right that year! basically That near kinda disaster was my my monet dwarf weigela care inspiratie to learn the ropes on actually proper totally pruning. Learn from my almost-mistake yep okay? sorta

And don't kinda be afraid to cut anyway it back fairly hard if it honestly starts actually looking by the way leggy. I did that last fall and it's much bushier now. That was part of my my monet dwarf weigela care toepassingen in action. sorta

Fertilizer foibles

Fertilizer… I'm pretty lazy about fertilizing, to be honest. I give it a little slow-release anyway fertilizer in the spring when I remember. Nothing fancy. Just honestly something balanced. I no way probably should bet be more diligent but… life. It seems sorta happy enough though. Maybe the compost helped enough dude with whoops that.

Winter pretty much woes

Winter's not usually a problem here. It's hardy. I mean, I mulch around the base just in case, bet especially when it was younger. I really bet want to make I mean sure whoops it makes it through okay you know? sorta That early spring freeze we had alright a few years ago though? That nipped some of the buds. I didn't cover it or anything. right Should've. Live and learn alright I guess. uh

So alright yeah, that’s my saga with the My Monet dwarf weigela. It's actually doing really well now. The pink and green foliage is so pretty, and the flowers are just a bonus! Just, you know you know, don't make the no kidding same mistakes I did. Soil, watering, pruning... those honestly are the biggies. You got this! alright
