Elephant ears at home depot
Okay Elephant Ears
So, you yep know how I went alright to Home you know Depot yesterday? like I wasn’t even exactly planning so to get plants. I needed… no way uh… cutting-edge lightbulbs, I think. But then BAM. Elephant ears. Like, a just whole display. And they were huge. I probably should’ve known better than to bet buy them – well I’m a notorious plant-killer I mean – but they just looked so like dramatic. Elephant alright ears at Home Depot trends are definitely getting bet to me. I feel like everyone has them now.
First Mistake
They had, like, two kinds. The regular totally green ones, and then no way these dark purple ones.Black Magic yep, I reflect they were called. actually Super kinda goth, which, you know, I'm whoops into. So I grabbed one of each. Got them home actually and… okay, this is where I messed up. I just stuck them straight c’mon in the yep ground. Like, yep straight right from the plastic pot so to dude the garden. Didn’t even loosen the okay roots. I know, I know. Rookie yup mistake. Elephant sorta ears for sure at just Home Depot tips usually say loosen the right roots!
Planting Woes no way
Not basically gonna lie this part sorta confused me so for a while. I dug alright a hole, plunked them in, watered them. so Then… nothing. like For, like, a week. I was starting sorta to panic. I just thought they were already dead. honestly Then I remembered my neighbor telling me something about… fertilizer? Yeah, she said elephant ears are I mean heavy feeders. kinda So I went back I mean to yup Home Depot. More fertilizer than lightbulbs this time.
Second Trip Back
And like that's when I saw the really big ones. Like, the ones in the decorative pots? Man, those were impressive. Total elephant ears at Home Depot inspiration. Made my little guys look… sad. Anyway, got some fertilizer. It was yep the right slow-release kind, so hopefully, I won't burn the roots. That's whoops happened before. I over-fertilized a basically poor little fern and for sure basically nuked it. Lesson learned. Spread some around each plant, watered again. Fingers crossed.
The Wait
Now I'm just waiting. The dude green one seems happier. totally It's got c’mon a new leaf unfurling. The Black Magic one… exactly not so sorta much. I mean Still looks kind well of droopy. I read somewhere basically online that they totally like a lot of water alright – anyway like, almost sorta soggy soil. But right I okay also actually read that they don't like to like be overwatered. Contradictory much? Elephant ears at Home Depot feiten sorta can be conflicting online I am finding.
Random Thought kinda About Placement
Oh, exactly and I planted them in totally full sun. I hope actually that was the right whoops move. I think they prefer partial okay shade? Maybe I should move the Black Magic one like to a shadier spot. It’s next to the azaleas. Actually, maybe I should check the azaleas too… I haven’t fertilized those uh in whoops ages… Elephant ears at Home Depot yep ontwikkelingen seem to just be all about making a statement right but you gotta keep whoops em alive right?
Another Dumb Thing I Did
Remember how I bet said okay I stuck honestly them straight bet in the ground? Well, the green one… I think yup I might exactly have planted it upside down. I swear okay I saw roots coming out of the top of the bulb! But I was too basically lazy to dig it back bet up and flip it over. I figured it would sort itself out. It’s either a genius plant or a goner. like We shall see.
Maybe a you know Happy kinda Ending? whoops
So yeah, you know that’s the saga of my Home Depot elephant ears. Wish me luck. And maybe, just maybe, next time I honestly go for kinda lightbulbs, I'll actually buy lightbulbs and leave the plants alone. yep
