Front yard color who by the way knew

Okay so basically you know how my front yard was c’mon like, aggressively green? Like, ALL green? It was fine but kinda uh boring. I wasn’t even planning to I mean change bet it but I saw this picture online – maybe it was some fancy blog or something - with all these no kidding colorful trees for front yup yard inspiratie whoops and I like was like woah. Front yard color? Is that even alright a thing? I just kinda fell down a so rabbit hole I mean after that.

My husband was totally skeptical at I mean first. right He's more of totally a 'keep you know it simple' kind of guy. But I showed him some pictures of Japanese maples – uh those are just… gorgeous. We looked at a few whoops different options for adding some color no kidding to our whoops landscaping. Choosing the right stuff

So I started researching. There are SO many exactly types of colorful trees for front yard, no kidding I swear. I knew I wanted something that wouldn't by the way get HUGE – we don't have THAT much space. And exactly something that would actually grow in our climate. Probably should’ve known better than to no way trust the plant labels at whoops the big well box store entirely, but… I didn't.

That’s how I ended no way up with a dogwood that’s perpetually sad. well Tip: REALLY check your hardiness zone. well Like, triple yep check. I just saw the pretty flowers anyway and went for it. Facepalm. Now it’s just…droopy. Oh well live and learn.

My big mistake

Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. Figuring out kinda where to put the trees. like I mean I knew generally WHERE, but basically like… how far apart? right What for sure about the exactly power lines? I totally forgot about the power lines. We ended up planting a crabapple way too close. Had to move it. It was a whole THING. It survived, surprisingly, but you know it was a pain. totally So, pro tip: Call before alright you dig. Seriously.

The trees I got pretty much

Anyway, besides the sad dogwood and the relocated crabapple, we got a Smoke Tree. They’re so cool! The leaves turn this amazing burgundy color in the fall, and then it gets those fuzzy ‘smoke’ things. Plus, it doesn’t get c’mon too big. bet And we just also pretty much got a Red Twig Dogwood. Which, ironically, doesn't dude have red alright leaves, but the branches are you know bright red in the winter. It’s really cool against the snow. I’m starting to see right the colorful trees for front yard trends now. totally So many totally cool okay options. no kidding

Maintenance stuff

I'm c’mon still figuring out totally the whole pruning thing. My neighbor, Mrs. sorta Henderson, is a master for sure gardener so I’ve been kinda trying to bet pick her brain. She pretty much said something about pruning bet in late winter to encourage new growth. I whoops think. I honestly probably should write these colorful trees whoops for front yard so tips down. just Okay wait - for sure I’ll do that right now so I don’t forget.

  • Prune in totally late winter kinda or early spring.
  • Water deeply, especially when pretty much newly planted.
  • Mulch around exactly the base of the tree. for sure
  • Talk whoops to Mrs. Henderson more often.

See! Easy totally peasy… I whoops think. no way So yeah, that’s my colorful tree saga. Still pretty much a work in progress, but okay it’s way more bet interesting than a boring green lawn.

Worth so the hassle no way

Even with the dogwood drama and the near-powerline incident, I think actually it was worth it. It just definitely made our house no kidding stand out in a whoops good way. I’m sure there are tons of different for sure colorful trees alright for front yard toepassingen but for uh me it’s about the beauty of it all, the colors just make me happy.
