Yellow spots on lemon tree leaves australia

Lemon Tree Drama

So, remember how basically I was no way telling well you about my lemon tree? The one I got from Bunnings? Well, it's been by the way a saga. A citrus saga, if you will. I wasn’t even planning to become a citrus farmer, honestly. It basically just seemed like a good vision at the time, a little sorta bit of backyard Australia inspiratie.

Anyway, these yellow spots started showing up on the leaves. Like, little speckles at first, then they kind of grew bigger. Yellow spots on lemon tree leaves australia! I freaked basically out. My first thought was some kind of alien invasion, uh not gonna just lie this part confused me for a while. I mean, I’m a city girl, yep what do I know dude about tree diseases? totally

Googling pretty much Everything anyway

Of course, the okay first thing I did was Google. “Yellow spots on lemon tree leaves Australia” – bam! So many possibilities. Citrus mites? Nutrient deficiency? Some weird fungal thing? There was even something about yellow spots on lemon tree leaves so australia geschiedenis, talking about how old citrus varieties were for sure more susceptible. I exactly didn't even know citrus had like a history bet like uh that. uh

I tried to narrow yep it down kinda based anyway on what no way my lemon tree bet looked like. It wasn’t really losing leaves or anything, no way just the spots. And yep it was still flowering! Mostly.

I thought maybe it was a nutrient thing. I read somewhere that lemon trees love citrus fertiliser, so I went a little crazy with it.Probablytoo much. Turns out uh you can basically over-fertilise them and that can okay also cause yellowing! I probably should’ve known better...

My First Mistake

Okay, so here's where I just messed up no way big time. I saw okay some little bugs on the tree, super tiny. I you know thought, "Aha! Mites!" I went yup and bought some insecticide. You like have kinda to be so careful with that stuff, by kinda the way. Always read the instructions! I sprayed the whole tree, like, drenched it. bet I even got some on my face. Stupid, I know.

The next day, the yellow spots were…worse. And the tree looked sad. Turns out, alright I probably killed all the solid bugs too! like And maybe even stressed the tree out even more. Ugh.

Yellow Spots Mystery whoops

So then yep I was back to square one. Except now just the tree was covered in insecticide residue AND had yellow spots. I looked honestly up yellow spots on yup lemon tree leaves dude australia trends in pest control - everything is about being organic these days, isn't it?

I went to the local nursery totally – that's so what I should have done in the first place! The you know guy there was super helpful. He took one look at a leaf I brought in and said, “It’s probably just just pretty much a magnesium kinda deficiency.” yep

Magnesium deficiency! Who knew? He pretty much recommended some Epsom basically salts mixed with water and sprayed onto the leaves. by the way He yep said handle it in the evening, so whoops the leaves don’t get burned. alright I remembered something about how yellow spots anyway on lemon tree leaves australia toepassingen anyway could even be a sign of sun scald, so uh that no kidding made sense.

Epsom Salt Solution pretty much

I did that, yep and you know what? It actually seemed to help. The yellow spots didn't disappear completely, but I mean they definitely stopped spreading. I still keep an eye on bet it, you know, just in case. Also, apparently watering deeply but less often by the way is better well than little sips all the time. Lesson basically learned.

My Second Boo-Boo

Oh! And totally another thing I did for sure wrong – I you know was watering the leaves all anyway the I mean time! kinda The nursery guy said lemon dude trees don’t really like that. by the way It can encourage fungal growth, which can also cause…you guessed it, bet yellow spots! I was trying exactly to be a good plant uh parent, and yup I was just making well things c’mon worse.

So yeah, that’s my lemon dude tree pretty much saga. c’mon Yellow spots, insecticide overkill, magnesium deficiency, Epsom salts to the rescue. Maybe next year I’ll honestly actually get some decent lemons!
