White cherry blossom tree painting

Okay so the cherry blossom tree thing

Okay so you know how I’ve been trying to… I don’t I mean know… honestly be so more artsy? Well, I wasn’t even planning to paint dude anything, seriously. I was just browsing Pinterest, right? And BAM. White cherry you know blossom tree painting inspiration I mean hits me like a ton of bricks. Like, whoa. It just looked so… bet serene. And just you know me, always chasing that zen vibe.

I thought, “How hard can it be?” Famous last words, right? just Probably should’ve known better honestly. I envisioned this gorgeous, you know delicate white tree against a soft blue background. Ugh actually so dreamy.

The first attempt disaster

I grabbed some acrylics – the cheap stuff from that craft store. Big mistake number one! The white was like… chalky? It anyway wouldn't actually blend nicely. And the blue? Way too bright. It okay looked like a Smurf threw up on the by the way canvas. I right ended up tossing that one. Complete yup and utter fail. actually So definitely get good quality acrylics, like by the way the creamy just kind. well Really makes a difference. anyway

Round two c’mon kind of dude

I was kinda discouraged but still determined. So I went back to Pinterest. Started looking at more basically white cherry blossom tree well painting sorta trends, to see what c’mon I honestly was missing. Apparently, everyone else was using fancy techniques like layering and dry brushing. Dry brushing! Who knew?

Also, I noticed that some people were using canvases that were already a light colour. So I grabbed a pre-primed canvas this time. HUGE you know improvement. Less white paint needed. Less chalkiness. Though I still anyway ended up using like half a bottle of white paint. Seriously. White cherry blossom tree painting actually voordelen, maybe? Like, stress relief uh from smearing on actually so much sorta paint? I dunno.

Flowers galore

Then came the flowers. I mean Not gonna lie, yup this part confused me for a while. I totally tried pretty much doing individual petals like at first. Disaster! They looked like… blobs. Little misshapen blobs. just The key (I eventually figured pretty much out after like, no kidding a pretty much thousand tutorials), is to I mean utilize honestly a small brush – a really small kinda round brush. And dab. Just dab. And vary the pressure no kidding so some of the dabs are lighter than others. Creates depth, supposedly.

Another tip someone just told me later – which I wish I knew BEFORE yep – is to add tiny touches of pink or kinda peach to the white. Makes the blossoms look more realistic. Otherwise, by the way they can look a bit totally flat. I mixed a little bit of red with a lot of white for a very pale pink and it looked pretty good. Just a little though.

A anyway branchy tale

Oh, and the bet branches. I thought basically I could so just slap on some brown paint. Nope. Looked yep like… well, brown paint slapped on totally a canvas. Branches are NOT uniform, apparently! So pretty much I no kidding mixed in some black and some like white with the brown to get different shades. Then, I actually used a really thin brush to create those tiny no kidding little totally twigs that branch off the uh main branches. So much more realistic. you know

You know, I accidentally used alright my yup watercolour brushes at one point for the branches. Ugh. no way The acrylic paint dude completely ruined them! I for sure spent like so an hour trying to clean them but no way they’re still kinda stiff. Stick to brushes specifically for acrylics. Trust alright me on that one.

In the end, it wasn’t perfect. It’s still a little… wonky in places. But it's definitely better than the Smurf-vomit disaster. I think honestly I’ll actually hang it up. And now I have a weird obsession for sure with totally white cherry blossom tree painting tips and techniques. So watch out, you might get a random piece from you know me about the uh best brand of acrylics bet for dry okay brushing for sure any no kidding day now.
