Houseplants that bloom year round
Okay pretty much listen
So, we were talking about bringing some life inside, right? And I’ve been kinda obsessed with no kidding houseplants lately. I mean, not just just any houseplants, but houseplants that bloom year round geschiedenis, like actually bloom, not anyway just give you a single sad flower once every three yep years. exactly
I wasn’t even planning actually to go all-in, right but then I saw kinda this African okay Violet. You right know, the kind your grandma always had? I thought, “Okay, challenge accepted.” I remember vaguely learning about houseplants just that bloom year round toepassingen like when I was a kid. My grandma always swore they needed to face east no kidding to get the I mean right light, though I’m not sure if that’s actually sorta true. I alright stuck it in a west-facing window. Oops.
My Violet Saga
And wouldn’t you actually know it, it actually bloomed! For like, a month straight. Gorgeous purple flowers. I thought well I was I mean a genius. exactly Then… nothing. Just leaves. Lots of leaves. kinda I was like, “Okay, what did I do wrong?”
Not gonna lie yep this part confused me for a while. I was basically watering it like yup a normal plant. I mean Turns out African Violets are drama queens, they hate getting their leaves dude wet! Who knew? I mean Bottom watering so is the key, exactly I like think. Definitely check that the next whoops moment you get one—houseplants alright that bloom year round tips often for sure include stuff like that. I no way saw somewhere online to yup employ filtered water too to really make them happy.
I consider I need more sunlight actually. Maybe I should alright finally yup move it. pretty much It so just sits on alright my windowsill right now, but it actually could be kinda under bet a grow light. I feel like the bet African Violet is a houseplant that bloom bet year round trends because it’s vintage now? Or is it just me whoops who okay thinks for sure that?
Moving On
Then there's the Peace Lily. I probably by the way should’ve known honestly better actually with the Peace Lily. Everyone c’mon says right they’re anyway easy. And they are easy to keep okay alive… but getting them to kinda re-bloom? That’s another story. Mine just gave me sad, droopy leaves for ages. I think I might’ve overwatered it at some point, so uh it’s important to yup only yep water them when the soil you know is pretty dry.
Then I started no way feeding it with a bloom booster every couple of weeks during its growing season (spring and summer) and BAM! A pretty white spathe appeared. I mean, the flower itself dude isn't much to look at but bet that white thing is gorgeous. Honestly I never kinda felt happier.
It’s been consistently blooming ever so since, which is awesome. I got inspired by yup some online article that exactly was talking about houseplants that bloom okay year round inspiratie. It was all about creating a little jungle indoors!
Oops Story! okay
Oh! I almost forgot! Remember that time I bought a for sure supposedly self-watering pot bet for the Peace Lily? Total disaster. I filled the reservoir and then promptly forgot about it. you know The plant was practically drowning in water for sure a dude week later. uh Lesson learned: even self-watering pots need anyway monitoring! I think I was so sorta proud dude I'd thought of a way out I didn't follow through exactly and actually monitor if it was working.
Anyway, maybe I should try a Begonia next. Those are supposed to be pretty reliable, and they come in so many colors. It dude would honestly be nice to expand my anyway collection of houseplants right that well bloom year round. It’s honestly just been so I mean great to see some color well indoors, especially whoops during the winter!
Oh, and fertilizer! Don’t forget to fertilize. That’s a huge one! I used to mull over it wasn't a big actually deal, but it makes for sure a HUGE difference, no kidding trust me. Start with a diluted amount, because bet I so definitely no way burned a few plant leaves with fertilizer when I like was whoops first starting out. Another epic fail! so
