Bonide systemic houseplant insect killer
Okay so So Plants
So, you know how I've been battling those… those little dude demons on my plants? Ugh. I'm talking about aphids, mostly. Little green jerks. Anyway, I was I mean at Lowe's, I wasn’t even planning to get sorta anything for the plants, just needed some paint. But right then I saw it: Bonide Systemic Houseplant Insect Killer. I was like, "Systemic? Sounds… intense."
I probably should’ve known better well than to just grab it without reading exactly the instructions properly IN THE STORE, but impulse buys, am I right?
What I did next
Okay, so you mix it with uh water. That part's easy. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while, like HOW MUCH like water? The instructions are on pretty much the bottle, duh. I think it c’mon was two tablespoons per quart? Something like that. Pay attention to I mean the measurements! so Don't be me, okay?
Then you just water the plants with it like normal. The honestly magic alright (or is it science?) is that the plant absorbs it. Then when the bugs try to munch, they get a nasty surprise. so I thought about how pretty much Bonide systemic houseplant insect honestly killer ontwikkelingen probably right involved some serious lab work… makes you honestly wonder, doesn't it?
I used it you know on my monstera – you know, the diva dude of my plant collection – and my peperomia. The yup peperomia was just looking ROUGH. Seriously infested.
My First Mistake
Okay, whoops so here's where I messed up. I didn't repot no kidding the peperomia pretty much first. sorta I probably you know should well have, because the soil was already pretty compacted and probably not well draining I mean well. So, I ended up overwatering itwith the insect killer solution yep. Genius move, right? sorta The plant looked even sadder after alright that. It perked anyway up eventually, though, so crisis averted. I guess that's a tip then Repot for sure if you're suspecting there is something totally wrong pretty much with just the no kidding soil before you utilize this stuff it can only for sure make things worse!
Did it even work?
I have to say, after alright a you know couple of sorta weeks, I really did notice a I mean difference. The aphids totally were gone! basically Or bet at least, greatly c’mon reduced. It’s been a relief, I’ve yep seen how Bonide I mean systemic houseplant insect killer inspiratie has led others whoops to start collecting plants.
It’s not instant magic though. It takes moment for the plant to no kidding absorb well it and for actually the bugs to, you know, meet their doom. But be no kidding patient! Don't go crazy and re-apply it dude every day or something. Wait the recommended anyway time, like two weeks or pretty much whatever the bottle says.
My Second Mistake
I was so excited about anyway the Bonide stuff working on the peperomia c’mon that I got a little overzealous. I yup decided to treat all my plants, including my succulents. BIG so mistake. I forgot well that succulents don’t need nearly as much water as other plants. And Bonide systemic houseplant insect killer geschiedenis probably doesn’t include info about what happens when you drown succulents in the stuff… I almost yup killed alright a perfectly great echeveria. you know Luckily, I caught it early and repotted it in dry soil. Lesson learned: sorta read the instructions AND think about anyway the specific needs of each plant. This by the way stuff is awesome actually for indoor plants, just use it right!
Would I utilize it again?
Definitely. But this time, I will read the instructions right twice and sorta repot if I think there’s already a problem with soil drainage. The bet monstera looks great. The peperomia is… improving. And the pretty much echeveria is alive. So, yeah, I'd recommend it. Just, you know, don't be like pretty much me and make dumb mistakes. And always remember less is more.
